Hating a teacher who seemingly hates you

Re: I despise my teacher and he hates me too, what can I do?!

Teachers are there to teach- that is their main purpose, and should always be their main goal. Depending on your definition of “hate”, we’re assuming that your teacher holds a grudge against you or seems to single you out with punishments or humiliation, and this feeling of disrespect is reciprocal. The most logical course of action would be to consult someone of his or her level who would be able to help out, such as the PDP counselors who’ll try to sort things out between you. Unfortunately, you need to grit your teeth and brace yourself for certain lessons due to the person giving it, but that shouldn’t be the case. We don’t recommend confronting the teacher with some witty comeback in class if he/she does something which annoys you- that could lead to a long-term feud or sparring which could be damaging to you. If you want to resolve the situation with the teacher directly, we suggest you bring up the issue in private. Your relationship with your teacher is imperative to your understanding of the subject, so we think that you should try to resolve it as soon- and as subtly- as possible. As a last resort, you could take your issue up to administration, but if you intend on doing so make sure you’re backed up. Sincerely, The Advice Team
