Re: How do I check if there are other LGBT in the school? Dear reader, As you know, LGBT is a sensitive topic to discuss. Your search of wanting to find others like you may prove to be difficult as, given the circumstances of our Aloysian environment, may hinder any ‘coming-outs’ any time soon. This is not criticism of the system, or of mentality, it is just initial fear we all experience in our lives. After-all, and as someone once told me, this is the 21st Century. Finding another LGBT is a difficult task. However, there are a few people here and there are known to be of the sort. You can always ask around - but subtly, of course. You can also, if you're up to it, ask a counsellor to relay a message. If you really want to meet with other LGBT people, you could ask her to tell any other LGBT students she talks to about you wanting to meet them, keeping your identity secret. Through the counsellor you could arrange a meeting with these people and only when you meet (unless you wish otherwise) would you know each others identities. This would be slightly awkward, naturally,but its the most subtle way for you to meet other people who are LGBT in the school.
