Too much homework

Re: My teacher gives me way too much homework. What should I do?

All of your subjects should take up some time of your day- but none should take up so much that they seep into your “rest” hours. That makes you unable to cope and can make you feel exasperated or exhausted. It’s imperative that you’re able to catch up with your work- even if it’s from one sole teacher, you can’t let yourself fall behind in that one. The best way to handle a situation like this is similar to the way we advised in the article about mutual disrespect between students and teachers- not through sass or angst, but by seeking help from those who can offer it. If you’ve got friends taking the same course, ask them to help you a few times when you desperately can’t cope and you might even learn a thing or two, maybe a new technique or short-cut. If you simply can’t cope with the rapid influx of work you’re getting; the best way to solve this would be by bringing up the issue with your teacher in private. It might be better if you do this as a group of people who are struggling with the same issue, so ask around your class and find others. Hopefully, your teacher will understand that he can’t push a massive flood of work in your direction and might ease the flow a bit. If he doesn’t; you should take it up with administration with confidence and a group of people supporting you. When you’re bringing the topic up with your teacher make sure you’re not hesitant and if you can, show him proof that it’s too much. We hope this helps you get through to your teacher! Sincerely, The Advice Team
