Re: We're all in one group at school and, a guy i had a history with which ended recently stays with us,school and outside school, and I don't know how to ignore the past..any ideas how to forget past..ignore the pain? Since you and this guy have the same friends and hang out together, seeing him will be inevitable but there is a way for you to become indifferent towards your history with him. First of all, you have to ask yourself if you have moved on. The fact that this situation bugs you so much is a clear indication that you still hold some resentment towards him.
Also, do not keep reminding yourself of your history with him. Avoid jokes related to the past or jokes that are aimed at showing him you're still bitter. Embrace the fact that you are now friends and that will help you be normal around him and also make things normal for the rest of your group.
Since it ended recently, its going to hurt much more to see him be normal and friendly as if nothing has happened, remind yourself that you are already better off as you are, by yourself and that you don't need him to feel whole and happy. Ultimately, the only way to forget the past and truly embrace your new friendship is to move on.
